EGYM has built a strong reputation in smart gym equipment, especially among physiotherapists and data-driven users across the DACH region. The challenge was to evolve this trusted foundation with a more performative (and progressive!) look that could open doors to intermediate and advanced trainers and new markets.

In gyms, first impressions matter. The moment someone steps onto the floor, equipment begins to shape how a brand is perceived. EGYM had already built a strong reputation for smart, guided strength training, with machines known for being intuitive, precise, and approachable. But how do you evolve it?
There was a growing opportunity to build upon their trusted foundation in physiotherapy and guided training and expand their smart strength family. To target a broader spectrum of advanced athletes. And to serve those who demand robust, high-performance physical equipment combined with the precision of digital tracking.
At the heart of the facelift sits a design system. A shared architecture built around a new set of towers, rolled out across 15+ machines, each one designed to feel part of the same family. The overall feel is sophisticated, progressive, and dynamic, conveying strength and motion with a self-assured design while preserving their unique DNA. Subtle LEDs and premium materials ensure EGYM maintains their intelligent and premium reputation.
Alongside this, we did a full rethink of how the machines meet the body. It’s about support under load, and freedom where it matters. Every pad and cushion was reworked through close collaboration between ergonomics, engineering, and real user feedback. Firmer foams where stability is critical. More give where movement needs to flow. Seam placements, material choices, hygiene, durability, all considered with intent.
The redesigned machines, including the new M20 Squat, debuted at FIBO 2026 with a confident new presence. It still feels smart, still approachable, but now with the kind of design presence that integrates perfectly into both settings: premium fitness/physio floors, and large ‘big box’ gyms.
For us, the project played to our strengths: sports know-how, material expertise, and a strong supplier network. And yes, we use the machines ourselves, so we know they hold up when the reps get tough.
