Technical Project Manager

Shanghai. Full time

Join our Shanghai team!

From our Shanghai studio, you will act as the central coordination and technical integration hub between design, engineering, manufacturing, and client stakeholders. You will work closely with our teams in Europe and China to ensure high-quality project delivery from concept development to production readiness.

This role requires a strong background in industrial design or automotive product development, along with an understanding of automotive/mobility design workflows, Alias modelling processes, CAD development, prototype phases, and manufacturing integration.

In this role you will…

  • Act as the key coordination and communication interface between Account Managers, Creative Directors, designers, Alias modellers, engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and clients throughout the development process.
  • Manage and support projects across the full product development cycle, including concept development, packaging alignment, CAD integration, Alias/Class-A surfacing, CMF, prototype phases, and production readiness.
  • Develop, track, and control project timelines, budgets, technical milestones, resources, and deliverables to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between design, Alias modelling, engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing teams, while driving technical reviews, prototype phases, tooling discussions, risk mitigation, and alignment on design intent, feasibility, timing, and production requirements.
  • Organize and facilitate internal reviews, CAD/design reviews, technical workshops, supplier discussions, and client meetings, including follow-up on action items and deliverables.
  • Support business development activities, including technical scoping, project planning, cost estimation, and proposal development.
  • Coordinate communication between Europe and China teams to ensure alignment on development priorities, technical dependencies, and project status.
  • Perform project administration tasks, including technical documentation, timing plans, meeting reports, progress tracking, and translation support when required.

We are looking for…

  • A university degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Automotive Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of professional project management or product development experience, preferably within automotive, mobility, industrial design, or related industries.
  • A solid understanding of automotive product development processes, including concept design, Alias modelling, CAD development, prototype phases, tooling, and manufacturing integration.
  • Strong awareness of technical feasibility, manufacturing processes, design development workflows, and related engineering practices.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage complex projects under tight timelines, develop practical solutions, and maintain a structured and detail-oriented working style.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with strong proficiency in English and Chinese.
