Mid-level Researcher & Strategist
Salzburg. Full time
Turn research into strategic direction with our Brand Strategy & Research team!
Our team bridges the gap between business, brand, and users. With us, you’ll dive deep into our clients’ brands, products and services using a mixed-methods approach. You’ll identify new opportunities, provide strategic direction, and co-create design solutions that improve brands and explore future horizons.
KISKA is a highly collaborative environment – so you’ll regularly team up with designers and product managers to develop the qualitative insights needed to make strong strategic decisions. Our focus industries include mobility, sports, industrial and manufacturing, healthcare, consumer goods and electronics, but you’ll likely work on a wide range of projects beyond these. No day is the same!
In this role you will…
- Ideate and organise research activities – including process and method selection, recruitment, and implementation.
- Develop mixed-methods research approaches tailored to client needs, drawing on experience in qualitative research, market research, surveys, and data-informed analysis.
- Analyse and synthesise research findings with a strong qualitative focus, complemented by quantitative inputs where relevant, using methods such as textual analysis, empathy mapping, and experience journeys to generate actionable insights.
- Use your findings as a springboard for future action, integrating the user at every stage of the strategic or design process.
- Manage research activities with the team, moderate workshops, and present your recommendations for strategic direction.
- Work closely with diverse stakeholders – from end-users to client representatives at board level.
We are looking for…
- A university degree in design / design research / brand marketing / psychology / sociology / data science / human-technology interaction / engineering.
- 2–3 years professional experience in research / design. Ideally with some background in consulting.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research skill set, plus confidence working with quantitative inputs (surveys, structured datasets) and AI-assisted analysis.
- An interest in interactive product experiences, digital communication, product lifecycles, and design impact.
- Openness to an experimental research approach, mixing qualitative and quantitative methods, and working through ambiguity, uncertainty, and questions that may remain unresolved for some time before a direction emerges.
- High levels of empathy and sociability to support interviews, co-creation workshops, and contextual inquiries in different contexts.
- Willingness to travel for research and workshops.
- Fluency in English. Very good German proficiency.
